So here are some of my hand sketches for wiring diagrams. Basically the code is reading the ultrasonic detector and when it sees something in front it stops one motor and keeps the other going (turn to the left) this is the classic simple way to create a autonomous navigational robot. The code is for auto drive and also if you want make a new scratch file get out a wirless keyboard hook it up to the ras pie and run the second part of code (second picture) and turn this robot into a remote control car with foward back left and right functions when you press "x" "w" "a" "s" "d".

Bill of materials: (do not buy robot kits, rip off!)

(1) raspberry pie

(1) Ultrasonic distance sensor: HC-SR04

(1) motor controller (driver): L298N Dual H Bridge DC Stepper Motor Drive

(1) Pie cobbler (+) for pin extensions from rasberry pie

(1) breadboard

(2) red, red, red 2.2Kohm resistors

(4) AA batteries
